Hello Folks,
i trust that all is sound in the land of parkandride and
everything is well with you all.
first up, some news on compilation albums that happen to
contain us on them. The Rough Trade Shops Indie Pop 1 is out this month and
it features Eighties Fan as part of its selection of fine pop nuggets.
Merge Records have released a three disc set to celebrate
their 15th birthday, its rather good, and it also happens to contain San
Francisco Song for those of you who are geographically challenged in
relation to where the keep it clean single was available in the shops.
Those lovely people at Shellshock Distribution have taken
it upon themselves to re-issue Eighties Fan from Andmoresound, the cd
(complete with b-sides Let's Go Bowling and Shine Like a New Pin) will be
available in the shops for the first time in two years since the demise of
Prime Distribution. If you have never seen the single, the sleeve comes in
yellow pages yellow (good eh!!).
I think this is my first post since we got back from the US
and Canadia, so i shall take this opporchancity to say a very big thanks to
all who made it down to the shows. You made us feel very welcome and it was
great to get to play shows all over the place to all of you. We will be
back.
Thats about it for now really. We're off into the studio
soon to make some new records (it won't be too long before we have some
exciting news about new records, but for the moment, those compilations will
have to do).
One other quick bit of related news, the California Snow
Story EP One Good Summer, featruring David Skirving formely of the
Obscurities is available again through Avalanche records. I think it might
be the only place in the UK that you can get it (although i could be wrong).
you could do worse to harras our Edinburgh shop to get it mailed out to you
at www.avalancherecords.co.uk I think they also sell it via Amazon.co.uk
anyone in the parish got any exciting news? Its been all
quiet of late in the land of parkandride.
                cheers Gav
