My mate (Yaz) went as a steward. Apparently the new fence was
successful in it's job of keeping out the Scousers. This had several
knock-on effects:
It was almost impossible to buy drugs on-site.
Scallies marauded around the car park, robbing late arrivals, and
sometimes shitting on cars.
Pikeys made ingenious but ultimately transparent attempts to get in
without tickets. Armbands were counterfeited or stolen. But Scousers
trying to enter with such booty were quickly spotted by their failure
to remove obviously Schemey attire. It is NOT the case that just
because you are wearing your hooded top _over_ your baseball cap
people can't see you are committing a crime.
The danger is that next year they will buy tickets, since a weekend's
drug dealing and tent-jacking will keep them in Regals for months.
Twats.
BTW I read in the Glasters programme a description of Tompaulin:
'decidedly not-shit guitar pop'.
