Hello folks,
hope all is sound in the land of parkandride and everything is well with you all. this could be considered blatant list abuse, but it isn't really (honestly), so i will go on, and please read on cause its good, stand on me. Myself and some other members of this parish are starting a new monthly club night in Glasgow on Saturday 11th May at the Woodside Social Club. The Winchester Club (no prizes for guessing from where the name is appropriated) aims to bring you a superfine mix of live bands and dj's for your dancing pleasure. Doors open at 8.45 and the first night sees live performances from California Snow Story (featuring David Skirving formerly of camera obscura and Garry Hogan who is a member of this parish, amongst others) and Pipas, who will be travelling up from London Village, with their brand of Pastels-esque indie guitar pop. After the bands, the winchester club dj's (myself, carey , ally cook, sarah, juicy lucy and john national pop league) will be playing a selection of fine tunes for you to dance to into the wee small hours. Expect the best in current and classic alternative sounds, with a peppering of pop, hip hop and electronica blended in for a more varied flavour. There will be drinks Promos. Its 4 quid for the bands and 3 quid thereafter. A splendid night is guaranteed for all. Here is just another reason for those of you who live outside of Glasgow to wish you lived here.
Anyway, hopefully see some of you there, cheers, Gavin
