hello the lads and lasses of parkandride...
haven't seen the lucksmiths live but i like their
stuff a lot, Dani... i'm sure their gig in glasgow
will be bloody great! no worries lass!
as for Jonathan Richman!! "Pablo Picasso has never
been called an asshole... not like you!"...
i saw him live for the first time 10-11 years ago...
might be 12... mmm... and i was smitten!! the guy was
fucking amazing!! he was all alone on stage, singing,
playing his guitar and the harmonica in between... he
was keeping the beat by knocking his foot on the
floor... i was there with a friend dancing away for 2
hours and also winking at jonathan...
second time i saw him 4 years ago and man it was like
not even one day has passed over him... how can he
look so young still? this time there was someone else
with him but it was fun fun fun nevertheless... two
blokes kept swinging over the stage - i dont know how
- whispering in his ear... as i found out later they
were offering him drugs! he turned their offer down
tho' good for him! thing is, if you're lucky enough to
have richman playing in your city don't miss him!!!
he's so so great... i even watched "something's going
on with Mary" (or however it was called) 4 times just
for the richman bits in it... even my Sid said once
that there was only one man/singer he respected in the
states and that was j.richman...
anyway, take good care...

PpS: Gavin mou, sorry about last night... couldn't get
a descent internet connection and i was so cream
crackered i fell asleep at 9.30pm!! of course i woke
up at 1am and watched a film till 3.30am! some things
never change!!
