OK, the positive comes in a minute, but first... THREE POUNDS? I blooming
well paid fifteen to see them. Admittedly that was with Jonathan Richman
but... bah!

The Lucksmiths was grate though. It was the first time I'd seen them and I
was a bit worried about the gig being at the Shepherds Bush Empire because
the sound there is notoriously bad, as that belleandsebastianband found out.
But. The sound was perfect, they played all my favourite songs and there
were tons of Aussies there, singing along for that home crowd feel).
Jonathan Richman was even better, though. Just him, his guitar and Tommy on
drums. I think it was Tommy. And lots of very, very tall fans. Chris
Cabbage is a mighty 6'3" and even he felt like a total dwarf. And he didn't
do Velvet Underground, but he did do Lesbian Bar so that makes up for it.
Anyway, it was a most enjoyable evening, overall. Is that positive enough
for you?

I am also glad the Lucksmiths are playing in Scotland because it means Ally
and I don't need to trek to Bath to see them when he next comes darn sarf.
Thank heavens for that.

Lucy x

hi everyone.

Vel reckons this mailing list has been too quiet recently so I am going to
use it for shameless self-promotion!!

I managed to get a gig together for the Lucksmiths, a fantastic Australian
band, who just released their album in the UK and they are currently touring
all over the country.

Anyone seen them recently who wants to tell us how it was?? (Only positive
comments please!).

Anyway, the gig is next Wednesday (24 October) in the Postgraduates' Club in
the University of Glasgow. 8pm till midnight. Tickets are 3 pounds. Advance
sales only though. Please see the notes below.

So, anyone coming along?? I am sure it's gonna be good. Recently the Dudley
Corporation and Joan of Arse played in the Postgrad Club and everyone had a
fantastic time!

Hopefully see you next week.
dani

PS. Vel, cheers for putting the photos on. I still haven't seen the Kings of
Convenience live... :-(
