Not exactly Paris, Texas, but I just had to say that the people in Denton are
in for such a treat. Not only do you get to see the Clientele, but be sure to
get their early to see what is quite possibly one of my very favorite bands,
The Jim Yoshii Pile Up, on the very same bill!! I would, quite literally, give
away my first born to see this show.
For those who haven't heard of JYPU: You know that feeling when you fall in
love. Your heart races when you see that someone and butterflys fill your
stomach. Well, they sound the exact opposite of that feeling. They sound as if
you're guts have been kicked in as you watch her walk away for the last time:
raw, bitter, and rejected. In other words, perfect pop music. Plus, you can
sort of dance to it...sort of. Best really just to lay about with it on. Go
on, rush out and buy Its Winter Here or Homemade Drugs; both insta classics in
my casa.
Tonight I'll struggle to find the energy to see Gravenhurst and Broadcast. A
sure sign I'm becoming stoggy and old.
