And there they were. And it was good. They appeared on stage at midnight, so
nice to finally see them in Amsterdam. Broadcast played before them to a
crowd of 200 I think and about 40 of them stayed for the remaining gigs,
among them maybe 10 Clientele fans. It was a peaceful atmosphere, although
there were people chattering all around me. It was a short set, maybe 25
minutes, just 7 songs. I couldn't believe my ears when Alasdair said it
would be their last song :) But I enjoyed every bit of it. Two songs I
didn't know, forgive me for that. It was like this:

Afterwards I decided to walk up to Alasdair and shake hands with him and
thank him for this lovely gig. For me it was an undescribable feeling to
talk to him, amazing really, someone I admire so much. For me I think it was
the same feeling as for a U2 fan to finally meet Bono.
Also bought myself a T shirt and that was it. Drove home as happy as can be.
Hope they will return soon.
The It's Art Dad cd makes me think of my own band Lakewise. Loads of songs
we recorded during our first years almost disappeared from existence until a
new band member recently listened to those and was amazed. So maybe the
Clientele's first songs will turn out to be their finest :)

Cheers,
Marc
